Fleet Intelligence is a real-time fleet analytics and predictive-health platform that turns raw vehicle signals into actionable operational intelligence. It combines CAN/OBD telemetry, advanced signal processing, and prognostic models to deliver driver behaviour analytics, vehicle utilisation insights, and predictive maintenance forecasts — enabling fleets and fleet service providers to reduce downtime, lower operating cost, and improve safety and emissions compliance.

Case Study : The parameter – Hybrid Effective Utilization, was engineered for Hybrid Fleets. Considering the typical Electric Powertrain based torque structure and factors like the AC Compressor being run on electricity, the approach taken to design the custom Vehicle Usage Analytics needed to be out-of-the-box.

Research and Development

EngineCAL’s EVA analytics engine can be deployed directly within telematics control units (TCUs) as an edge-computing library. Running on-vehicle, EVA ingests raw CAN signals in real time and performs advanced signal conditioning, feature extraction, and behavioural interpretation without reliance on continuous cloud connectivity.

This edge-native approach enables: Low-latency analytics and event detection Reduced data bandwidth requirements through intelligent summarisation High-fidelity interpretation of vehicle behaviour, not just data logging The result is actionable intelligence generated where the data originates — inside the vehicle.

EngineCAL has tirelessly worked towards cutting-edge analytics which can help not just reduce tail-pipe emissions but also track emission compliance. With the shifting focus on sophisticated on-board self-assessment layers like On Board Monitoring (OBM) for EU7 and beyond, we have built and successfully deployed a light external solution to assess for IUPR Compliance and associated category-analytics required for Audits by the Legislation Authorities. This is now approved by the Compliance Organization. The solution utilizes EngineCAL’s tried and tested BLE-Smart Device App-Cloud App ecosystem for scalability, transparency and ease of use.

The solution has also been tailored so that it may be proposed as an upgrade to the existing Indian PUC Program.

End of Line

EngineCAL brings powertrain intelligence to the factory floor by enabling real-time, data-driven vehicle quality assessment at the End-of-Line (EOL) stage. By analysing live CAN data during EOL tests, EngineCAL moves quality validation beyond static checks and fault-code verification into objective, performance-based evaluation.

  • ECU flashing and communication integrity.
  • Absence of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
  • Basic actuator and sensor plausibility.

While necessary, these checks do not assess how the vehicle actually behaves as a system. EngineCAL augments EOL testing by evaluating dynamic powertrain behaviour using high-resolution CAN data captured during crank, idle, rev, load, and short drive or dyno events.
